1985-86 was the second season for Diego in Naples. He was now the idol of the whole city. This tournament was better than the previous one and Napoli was now one of the best teams in Italy and Europe.
Maradona played a good tournament together with the striker Bruno Giordano: they scored 21 goals for Napoli as Napoli ranked third in Serie A.
The most important goal by Diego was the one on a fabulous free-kick against Juventus in Naples as Napoli won 1-0. Napoli won a match against Juventus after 13 years and the whole city celebrated the victory!
In 1985-86 Maradona led Napoli to the third position and scored 11 goals in 29 matches. Juventus won the title.
